Issue

Zoom has recently rolled out a new feature called End-to-End (E2E) Encryption that is currently in technical preview, and can be enabled account-wide by your account owner. This feature is not compatible with Mediasite integrations, and should not be turned on.

Solution

Turning on the E2E Encryption option in Zoom forces users to join a meeting via the Zoom application, prohibiting joining from telephone, SIP/H.323 devices, on-premise configurations, or Lync/Skype clients. This will prohibit Mediasite Join from being able to connect to a meeting.

Turning on E2E Encryption also disables several Zoom features, including Cloud Recording. This would prohibit the native Zoom import integration in Mediasite from working properly, as it depends on downloading Zoom Cloud Recordings.

If you use either Mediasite Join or the Zoom import integration for Mediasite, you should not enable E2E Encryption within your Zoom account.
